15Mar2020
Good evening CLCP families,
I am writing once again today to tell you that classes at Callingwood Lymburn Community Playschool will be cancelled until further notice.
Today the Alberta Government made the decision to close all K-12 schools, childcare programs and post secondary institutions across the province in response to the continued spread of COVID-19, starting March 16, 2020.
I’ve spoken with both Teacher Cathey and Teacher Lisa today. Although the closures are a necessary step in slowing the spread of COVID-19, they both were saddened by the news and will miss seeing your little ones each week.
Please continue to watch your email for any changes or updates that we have for you. We ask that you do not go to the school for any reason as it will only be open to staff and you will be turned away.
Stay safe and hopefully you all are able to enjoy this time together with your family.
If you have any questions or concerns you can contact me at chair@callingwoodlymburnplayschool.com

Unfortunately, all playschool classes are cancelled at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic as advised by AHS, EPSB and the Government of Alberta.

Please note that there will be no fees for playschool families until classes resume.

More information about when classes can resume will be provided when available.

Take care of each other! We hope to see everyone again soon.

CLCP has decided to cancel the Open House that was to be held in our classroom on March 18, 2020 to help reduce the number of social gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please browse our website for more information and contact information for our teachers and committee members for questions about how to register for the upcoming school year.

Hello CLCP families,

At Callingwood Lymburn Community Playschool the health, safety and well-being of students, teachers and you as volunteers is our number one priority. I know you may have questions and I want to personally assure you that we are monitoring the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) closely. We are in contact with Lymburn School authorities and have chosen, as in other cases, to follow the lead of Edmonton Public School Division and Albert Health Services on how to deal with the upcoming events. As of right now classes will continue as usual, but please keep an eye on your email for any updates that we have for you.

Beyond simply monitoring the situation, we are taking measures to increase classroom sanitation. All sensory play including but not limited to sand table, water table, playdough and slime has been stopped. You will also notice the teachers asking for students to line up and wash hands more often. If you happen to be in the classroom as a parent helper over the next week please wash your hands upon entering the classroom and add sanitizing door handles to your routine. Giving the teachers a little extra help implementing these precautions will be greatly appreciated.

We have made the decision to cancel our second open house scheduled for March 18th, 2020 to cut down on unnecessary social gatherings. Any families that are interested in CLCP can visit our website at https://callingwoodlymburnplayschool.com.

Health and safety are all our responsibility. I encourage you to practice safety measures at home and when you’re out. Wash your hands with soap and water frequently, and please stay home if you are sick. It is also recommended by AHS for families returning from outside the country to self-isolate for 14 days upon their return to monitor if symptoms arise. Every family will have a different approach to dealing with health issues and I urge you to do what feels right for your family and support your fellow community members during these times.

Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any concerns please feel free to email me at chair@callingwoodlymburnplayschool.com
