Message from the Events Coordinator
Hello CLCP Families
I can’t believe it’s almost the end of the year, where has the time gone?! With the end of the year comes the Year End Carnival. All students as well as immediate family are welcome to join us for a free pizza lunch at the Carnival. We will have bouncy castles, face painting, magic show, balloon animals and the Adventure Bus. It is going to be great fun.
Additional friends and family members are also welcome to join at a cost of $3 per person. This will include 2 pieces of pizza, a drink and a snack. More information will be coming out soon. The Carnival is on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 11am – 2pm in the Lymburn School Gymnasium.
I am looking for 3 more families to volunteer for this event. Duties would be 20 minute supervision of the bouncy castles. We have had many families step up throughout the year and do multiple events, so I am first asking any of the families who haven’t had a chance to volunteer yet, for your help.

Good Day CLCP Families
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all families who volunteered for the family dance. Without all your help and efforts we would not have been able to make it such a big
success. These events truly are fueled by volunteer participation. So to all the families who came early, the ones who did extra kitchen shifts, stayed longer to continue to help out, the ones that stayed late to clean up, Thank you! Every year we strive to make the dance better than the last. Each year is a learning opportunity as to what we need to do to make it better. This year we did not anticipate selling so many food tickets at the door. For the families who were unable to purchase anymore food tickets I would like to apologize. I will take what we learned from this year and plan better for next year.

DID YOU KNOW ?
Children who are turning 3 between September and October 31 can participate in our 3 year old program! The child must be potty trained. Children who turn 3 after the first day of classes must attend with their parent/guardian until the child turns 3 years of age. Such attendance can only occur if the child’s third birthday is on or before October 31st. If the child’s birthday is after October 31, the child’s spot can be guaranteed only if the parents pay the registration fee and tuition fees for the duration of time between the start of school in September and the child’s birthday.
The Callingwood-Lymburn Community Playschool (CLCP) will be holding our open house on Monday February 27th, 2017 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. CLCP is located within the Lymburn school which is located at 18710 72 Ave.
Families are encouraged to come and meet the Teachers and visit the play school. Please make sure you have read the updated 2016/2017 CLCP handbook and completed the CLCP 2017-2018 Registration Form. On March 10th, 2017 we will be having our annual family dance and silent auction fundraising event. We are looking forward to this as it has typically been a very successful fundraiser. Also, it is wonderful to watch the children dance and play with their friends and family.
Your assistance in obtaining items or gift certificates for the auction is absolutely essential to making this event a success. Please contact any business that you can solicit a donation from. A copy of our donation letter will be emailed out at the same time as this newsletter. Also, I will leave some paper copies outside the class and there is a link to the letter below. Please take this letter with you to local businesses in order to secure donations. Before approaching any business, please take a moment, when dropping off your child, to look at the bulletin board located outside the classroom to ensure that they have not already been contacted. Also, once you have approached a business, please add them to the list of businesses contacted.
We realize this adds extra steps to the process, but we want to be sure that no business is overwhelmed with requests. If you receive any donations or wish to donate any new or gently used items yourself, they can be dropped off inside the classroom or go directly to me.
