The Festival of Trees has beautifully decorated trees, choirs singing, festive shopping, and children’s activities (examples: ice a cookie, trim a small Christmas tree, etc). Additional coupons may be purchased at the Festival for $1.00. Some of the free activities include visiting Santa, the hospital room and the Story Nook. There also is a “Secret Shop” where the children can purchase small gifts for their family. The Festival of Trees is a fundraiser for the University of Alberta Hospital. Check out their website for more information http://www.festivaloftrees.ca

Please note that a parent or a responsible adult must accompany every student on this field trip. You may make arrangements with another playschool parent to care for your child during this field trip if you are unable to attend. Parents who want to bring siblings (under 2 years are free admission and ages 2-12 are $2) may drive to the Shaw Conference Centre and meet us at the entrance at 10:30. Sorry, no siblings on the bus due to insurance purposes.

You may purchase lunch (typically pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, etc) at the Festival of Trees or you may bring a bagged lunch with you. There are tables/chairs to eat at but this area is usually very busy.

Please note: This field trip is a self-guided tour once we are inside the Festival of Trees. Feel free to explore the venue on your own or with a small group of friends. We are too large of a group to stay all together (there are 60+ families attending from our playschool). We hope you can come!
